Nestling snug in one of the most popular hill resorts of India Nainital is the summer palace of the Rajas of Awagarh. The Palace Belvedere, built nearly a century ago by Raja Balwant Singh, OBE, CIE of Awagarh in 1897, today is the epitome of gracious regal living.
Belvedere once the summer palace of the erstwhile Rajas of Awagarh is reminiscent of the bygone days of the 'Raj Era', built nearly a century ago by Raja Balwant Singh OBE, CIE of Awagarh in the year 1897.
It is picpicturesquely set amongst the scenic beauty of the famous hill station, Nainital in Kumaon.
The hotel affords a panoramic view of the famous Naini lake - which finds mention in the 'Skanda Puranas' as a palace of meditation of the Three Rishis (Tririshi Sarovar).
The salubrious and invigorating climate delights the visitors in all seasons, with its kaleidoscope of colour and beauty. The hotel, though situated in close proximity to the town, is surrounded by sprawling gardens - a befitting setting for the regal façade.
Now completely renovated and refurbished, this stately colonial mansion still retains its unique, original and highly distinctive character, and is now run as a resort under the personal supervision of the present royal family.
Our a la carte menu, with its Continental, Chinese, Indian and Tandoori cuisine delights the palates of the most discerning.
The ambience of the lounge and foyer vividly brings to mind the regality of gracious living. Hospitality is the key
Word, which makes your visit a memorable experience, affording as it does, a glimpse of the pleasures that once were the sole preserve of princes. The rooms and suites are elegantly furnished and exude a gracious old world charm.
